The Friends of the Cairo Public Library is a group whose mission is to help support the library.
Joining the Friends is easy! Come to a meeting – all are welcome. Meetings are held the First Monday of each month at 2:30 pm in the library.
There are many ways to help support the library. Attendance at meetings is not mandatory.

Use the google form to become a monetary Friend of the Library or ask for a form from the circulation desk. All proceeds go to support the Library

Barbara (President) is a long time Librarian in Brooklyn School District she is now located to the Cairo Area and runs the friends group as well as a book club making her a super supporter of the Library.
Barbara (Vice-President) started her time as a clerk at the library and has moved into being VP of the Friends Group. She is always jumping in to help at every event! Come to an event and you will see here there.
Brenda (Treasurer) is the crafter extraordinaire. As a relatively new member she has hit the ground running in the friends group. She has filled a few positions while being a member. You have seen her handy work in the friends recent quilt raffles
Robin (Secretary) is a staple at the Cairo Public Library serving as Library Clerk for over 15 years. After retiring she still wanted to be involved and chose to join the friends. She may spend more time at the library now than when she worked there.
Fundraisers:
The Friends Of The Cairo Public Library put on an annual Nickel Social in April or May. This event is their largest fundraiser of the year raising over 1,500 dollars. Many hands make light work! There are many opportunities to volunteer for this event. Your support can range from attending to setting up or packing boxes.

The Friends Of The Cairo Public Library put on weekly Wednesday book sales in July and August and pop up book sales throughout the year. Members help Set up, sell and breakdown these sales. Help the friends with just one or all of the sales by taking a morning or afternoon shift.
